Andrew Follows My Eye My Melbourne

In late February 2008 I got a call from Andrew follows asking if he could do my workshop even though he is blind. After some discussion Andrew had disclosed that he had dreamed of one day being a photographer and having an exhibition. Whilst chatting we worked out the details and started working together. Once a week we would hit the streets of Melbourne discovering the world through the lens whilst working on Andrews’s exhibition called “My Eye My Melbourne”.

By mid December Andrew had realised his dream in more ways than one. Once Andrews work was up to par, first I invited Andrew to a European based on line art community called Art Mesh (Art Mesh has international patronage)  then invited him to join an international art group called Mirca Art. At the time we at Mirca as a collective of artists from around the world were working an art book spear headed, designed and produced by Carla Goldberg USA based artist the book is called “Freedom & Art”. All proceeds are being donated to Amnesty International to support efforts being made on behalf of Mrs. Aung San Suu Kyi's release. This meant that buy the time Andrew had his first exhibition he was already a published photographer in an international art book.

With his first exhibition at the Katrina Manton Gallery at 325 Montague ST Albert Park Melbourne his exhibition it was a great success. Andrews beautiful work can be viewed on line at Katrina Manton Gallery  and his image for the Mirca Art group’s book “Freedom & Art” can be viewed at Mirca Art.
